The European Commission has just published the CBAM certificate price applicable to imports carried out during the third quarter of 2026.
The price is set at €82.32 per tonne of CO₂.
As a reminder, in 2026 the price of CBAM certificates is calculated on a quarterly basis, based on the average price of emission allowances on the EU carbon market (EU ETS).
The prices applicable for the first three quarters of 2026 are therefore as follows:
- Q1: €75.36/tCO₂
- Q2: €75.28/tCO₂
- Q3: €82.32/tCO₂
The price of €82.32/tCO₂ applies to the embedded emissions in CBAM goods imported between 1 July and 30 September 2026.
Certificates corresponding to imports carried out in 2026 will have to be purchased from February 2027. From 2027 onwards, the certificate price will be published every week.
