Article updated on 28 July 2026

On 6 July 2026, the European Commission officially published the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) certificate price for the second quarter of 2026. This price sets a key reference for importers preparing for the financial impact of the mechanism.

CBAM Certificate Price: Implications for Importers

The certificates corresponding to the embedded emissions in CBAM goods imported during the first quarter of 2026 will have to be purchased at €75.36, while those corresponding to imports made during the second quarter will have to be purchased at €75.28.

In 2026, the European Commission will publish prices on a quarterly basis, before moving to a weekly system from 2027 to better reflect market dynamics.
