From September 2022, companies required to declare the statistical part of the exchange of goods declaration (DEB-Intrastat), also known as the statistical survey or "EMEBI", will receive a letter from the French administration.

We are delighted to share with you the recording of our Webinar that took place on January 19th and which focuses on the Reverse charge on import VAT that is now mandatory in France since January 2022.
All companies that act as the importers of records in France are liable for VAT on import and will have to obtain a valid VAT French number, issued by the DGFiP, and will have to file VAT filings. VAT will not any longer be collected by customs authorities on imports, reverse charge of VAT to importation (ATVAI) becomes the rule for all taxpayers who must declare the amounts on their VAT filings.
VAT identification obligation for foreign companies that hold stock in France under suspensive tax regime (RFS)

The new VATI reverse charge regime put in place on January 1, 2022 has led to new reporting obligations for companies that are not established in France holding goods under the suspensive tax regime (RFS). This is particularly the case for companies using so-called “RFSE” or “RFSI” stocks.
